"I attended University of Illinois, have earned a Masters in Psychology, and
came to HSPC in 2010 with a background in event planning. My role

Pictured here with her Golden Retriever, Roan ("the best dog and hiking buddy
who ever lived!"), Rita was a photographer in the army for four years. She loves to
use her camera knowledge to capture candid shots of her new walking buddies.
"Walking dogs is fun and great exercise. I have enjoyed getting to know
your pets and feel like I am visiting friends whenever I stop by for a walk.
I joined Heaven Sent in 2011, and in addition to walking dogs, I track all
of the keys for our Clients and Walkers and help out in the office."

After practicing corporate law in a large Washington, D.C. law firm for 6 years,
Susan took over her family's Philadelphia mail-order business and grew it into a
highly profitable, productive entity as well as a really fun and nurturing place to
work. Ironically, that is where she discovered the pet-sitting industry---while
researching pet related products for a new catalog.
Susan had two life dreams since she was a child: to have her own business, and to
work with animals. Heaven Sent Pet Care married the two. Helping to create and
build Heaven Sent has truly been one of the most rewarding, challenging, and
exciting ventures she has ever been a part of in her entire life. The pets, their
families, and the pet care specialists she has gotten to know over the years have
all been absolutely wonderful. Since 1999, her Heaven Sent business embodies her
mission to serve pets, parents, her Walkers and Sitters, and the community with
excellence and integrity.
Susan is also a singer-songwriter and is the lead singer in the band "Altered Ego."
She is very lucky to share her home with her wonderful husband David, children
Joey and Sofia, and although her first baby Willie "the Wonder Dog" has passed
on, Yogi the Little Bear has brought so much joy to their lives.

Paula met Susan around 2008 through music and their kids’ school, and has her
own pooch, Dexter, our Bijan-Poodle mix. She has been with Heaven Sent since
2010 setting up new Key Checkout Systems, managing Accounts Receivables, and
consulting for the myriad of projects that may come up.
"When I was four years old, our dog had puppies. Fat Albert would always
sneak away from the puppy pack to be with us humans, and so he joined
our family. He I grew up together; we invented our own games, and he
was always there for me (don’t tell Dex, but he is still my favorite).
I have spent many hours volunteering for Evanston Girl Scouts (since
2007), and at my kids’ schools, and planning and caring for my home and
family. I take classes at the Old Town School, and am a singer-songwriter
in the band “Altered Ego.” I love writing, walking, being outdoors,
camping, and sailing. My children have opened my eyes to the world of
Juvenile Fiction, and I am currently hooked on multiple series."

Jim is originally from St. Louis but traveled from his home in Paris some 35 years
ago to pursue what was to become a long fulfilling career in photography and
magazine publishing. He then retired and joined the Heaven Sent Pet Care team in
2012. Jim continues to contribute to the photo community as a consultant and
guest speaker and has several work in progress writing projects. When he can he
travels to France, Iceland and wherever his passport will take him. Jim has
particularly fond memories of his beloved German Shepard, Greta, and his sweet
little Chartreux kitty, Lillet, (pronounced “lil-lay”), a French breed with a French
name of course. While not currently pet owners he and his wife “are on the verge
of a new adoption.” Jim has also cared for Icelandic horses during his many trips to
Iceland to visit friends who farm there.
“Every day I look forward to the waggin’ tails and the soft kitty purrs
greeting me. We walk, (…I cancelled my gym membership!), we “talk" and
in return I never forget the pets and ear rubs. Whether for a walk, a visit
or a long house sit, I also remain devoted to the responsibility of taking
care of an important member each owner’s household."

"Since I was a kid, if you asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up I
would tell you "I want to work with animals!" I have always had animals
around growing up fish, guinea pigs, cats, and dogs. There is a pureness in
animals hearts that fills me up, and brings joy, which is why I choose and
love to spend every day with them! I enjoy being outdoors with the
animals, exploring local neighborhoods, and giving the animals as many
cuddles as I can."
